Order pre-printed address labels with your new address as soon as you know it. It makes the change-of-address process much easier!

• creditors

• magazine subscriptions

• friends & relatives!

Contact:

• utility companies

  • don't forget to get refund of any deposits!

• schools

  • transfer the records for your kids.

• insurance companies

• automobile registration

• medical, dental and prescription histories

  • why not ask for referrals if you are moving to a new area!

• church, clubs & civic organization

  • transfer your membership and get letters of introduction

• empty the freezer!
  • plan use of foods.

• defrost the refrigerator and freezer.
  • try using charcoal to get rid of odors.

• have your appliances serviced for moving

• clean rugs before moving
  • have them 'moving-wrapped'

• consult your moving counselor to check:
  • insurance coverage
  • vacancy clause
  • packing and unpacking assistance
  • necessary shipping paper
  • payment arrangements

• carry cash, jewelry and important documents yourself!

• make arrangements for the care of infants and children

• make arrangements for meals.

• inform a relative or close friend of moving route and travel schedule

• double-check shelves, closets and drawers!

• the name and phone number of your paper carrier
